PROGRAMS

This is a 3-6-weeks program for internships, interdisciplinary studies, and volunteer activities to work on the Regional Revitalization project in the cities and towns, Hokkaido, Japan. As an intern of our team, you can have valuable experience on the international stage with various community services, research in your academic field, and collaboration with people in the region. We are working closely with local companies, governments, non-profit organizations, and schools to revitalize their regions. This is a valuable opportunity for you to build up connections with Japan as well as those companies and individuals collaborating with us. This hands-on experience is a precious international opportunity where you can apply knowledge and skills obtained in school. All academic majors are welcome because we are connected with various kinds of industries, and ideas for revitalization can come from many different aspects such as agriculture, architecture, business, computer science, education, entrepreneurship, films, fine art, geo-science, history, media, and more. The program starts with a guidance week (one week) to learn the region/prefecture and the project, following 3-5 internship/research/volunteer weeks. The guidance week includes an orientation, field trips, and lectures and discussions. Upon completion of this program, the participants are eligible to submit business plans and ideas for revitalization. If your idea/plan is accepted by us and the city government, you will get $1,000 as a prize and an opportunity to implement the idea/plan in the region with us.

 

2 Locations: The city of Sapporo, Ishikari, and surrounding towns, Hokkaido, Japan

 

3 Time:   1st session    May 22nd, 2023 – (Up to 6 weeks)

                2nd session June 12th,  2023 – (Up to 6 weeks)

                3rd session   July  10th,  2023 – (Up to 4 weeks)

                4th session   August 1st 2023 -  (Up to 4 weeks)

4 Internships: As an intern of our team, you will experience the following works with us in Japan.

      * Collaborate with local non-profit organizations to plan and operate events.

      * Provide after-school English workshops to elementary to high school students in the community.

      * Create interesting and informative social media content on relevant activities.

      * Volunteer work in agriculture and their products.

      * Communicate with elderly people living alone in their home.

      * Collaborate with local college students to create and implement ideas of revitalization.

      * Research historical facts, geographical characteristics, and other features for blogs on the website.

5 Accommodations:  Homestay (with breakfast and dinner) or Share House

6 Eligibilities:  

1. Undergraduate or graduate student from accredited university

2. GPA 3.00 and upper

3. 18 years old and older

4. Japanese language proficiency Required (Proficiency level depends on the work.)
